I just found out about this place. It's awesome. Watch out Portillo's, Cordon's is going to give you a run for your money!! I'm definitely coming back to try the pizza. The Italian Beef was amazing. Mel had the Gyro and she can't stop talking about it. The portions are a good size, along with the "out of this world" flavor!!

Waited a while for a Menu… Young waiters were a bit unfocused but the food made up for it! (A table left while we waited for a menu) Loved all the items we got, 100% recommend the fried mushrooms and the chicken alfredo was so creamy! Definitely coming back for the pasta.

We stopped by Gordon’s Taste of Chicago and had a great experience! The fried pickle spears were a standout—crispy, flavorful, and clearly homemade. The mac n cheese bites were tasty too, though they didn’t seem homemade, but still hit the spot. We ordered a cheese deep dish pizza, and while it wasn’t quite as thick as a traditional Chicago deep dish, the flavor was definitely on point. The atmosphere was warm and very family-oriented, and we noticed a playground behind the building, which is a really nice touch for families with kids. Overall, solid food, friendly vibes, and we’ll definitely be back!

Cordon’s taste of Chicago did it again!! Never disappoints! This is my first time coming here after passing by for years since moving to this area!we ordered the Chicago style hot dog, the big tex burger (voted best burger by Texas monthly), chicken Alfredo and the strawberry cream cake! The food was delicious! My favorite was the Chicago style hot dog! And my partner loved the big tex burger (it’s deserving of the best burger title from Texas monthly), the cake was delicious!! The strawberry cream filling was so good I want a tub of it the ambience was a blast from the past! Be prepared to be transported back to the past to 90s Chicago. The owners are incredibly sweet! Alyssa gave us the back story of this establishment with her dad coming from Chicago to play baseball here at UTRGV previously known as PANAM (they have his jersey on the wall!!) Their decor is all from their house!! Old Chicago memorabilia!! There’s basketball, volleyball and soccer courts! Balls provided! it also has a kids playground, outdoor seating and swings!! In the front there’s extra outdoor sitting with a mural painted of their family in caricature!!This was an extremely positive experience! This place is a HIDDEN GEM!we are definitely becoming regular customers!! It’s not just a restaurant it really is a taste of Chicago

Cordon's didn't disappoint one bit! The Chicago style dog was delicious and tasted just like the ones served at Portillos. The onion rings were very crispy and delicious, some of the best I've had in a while. I ordered their strawberry creme cake and I must say, that cake stole the show.. it was decadent and not too sweet, but it definitely packed a punch. I'm anxious to go back and try other foods there!
